Palm Desert Civic Center Skate Park Now Offers Free Admission and 6 a.m.–10 p.m. Hours

PALM DESERT, Riverside County — Skateboarders have more time to use the Palm Desert Civic Center Skate Park, with the city announcing daily operating hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and free admission.

According to the municipal announcement, the 10,000-square-foot concrete facility has both beginner and advanced areas, featuring rails, ledges, a street spine, four-foot quarter pipes, a fun box and a bowl. Lighting allows evening use within posted hours.

Safety rules apply

The city emphasizes that helmets, knee pads and elbow pads are mandatory at all times. The facility is unsupervised, so adults accompanying younger participants should review posted rules and ensure that appropriate equipment fits correctly.

The skate park sits at 43942 San Pablo Avenue, behind Civic Center Park. Admission does not require a paid membership. Residents should still check city notices for temporary closures, maintenance and event conflicts before arriving, particularly on holidays or after damaging weather.

The expanded schedule provides a local recreation option beyond school and conventional business hours. Whether a first-time skater or an experienced rider, visitors should choose obstacles that match their ability and share the space responsibly.
